Des groupes comme Bad religion ou Less than Jake ont déjà tentés l’expérience, provocant le mécontentement des fans, qui au-delà du problème lié à l’éthique punk qui se veut indépendante, ne retrouvaient pas les riffs et les refrains qui les avaient fait danser. En gros ils ont pondu des bonnes grosses daubes d’albums – In with the out crowd , Less Than Jake - complètement dénaturés et aseptisés. De la pop de merde quoi. Tout ça parce que Mr le producteur n’aime pas trop quand ça gueule… Jusqu’au jour où, eux-même s’en rendant compte, ils retournent d’ou ils viennent, la fin de contrat arrivant, vont en studio, et reprennent où ils en étaient. Au punkrock. Le vrai.

Tout ça pour dire que oui, les nouvelles sont bonnes. Hier, Fat wreck chords ont annoncé le retour au bercail d’Against me!. Tant mieux parce que “New wave” c’était vraiment pas terrible. Rien à voir avec un “Reinventing Axl Rose” qui fait trembler le sol. Et c’est la même pour Rise against. Retour chez Fat (Ouf, il était temps!). Idem et ça c’est parfait, Anti-flag (qui d’un coup s’étaient mis à faire des chansons de 6 minutes!!!) vont sortir le très attendu “The people or the gun” chez Side one dummy (Flogging molly, The gaslight anthem, Chuck Ragan…) Merci les gars! Laissons ces choses-là à Offspring ou Sum 41. On joue pas vraiment dans la même cour…
